International Melody Foundation
International Melody Foundation was formed in the early eighties by a group of ardent Music Lovers of Delhi who felt a great need to revive and preserve the old Indian Tradition of Mehfills & Baithak Style of Musical Events for Qwallies, Ghazals, Semi Classical, classical Music & Poetry recitals to survive & along with it the Great Tradition of ‘ Ganga Jamni Tehzeeb’ of Central India which has been binding force for people of various colors, creed & castes like one umbrella of brotherhood through the medium of MUSIC !
The Foundation since then has organized Musical Programmes presented by the International Celebrities & World Famous Artists thus acquiring a permanent place in the circle as well as in the hearts of all music lovers in the Capital of India, in the country & in the sub continent.
The Foundation during the past four decade has had the privilege of presenting Eminent Personalities from the World of Music such as Bharat Ratna Bismillah Khan, Ustad Ghulam Ali, Sabri Brothers, Begum Iqbal Bano, Reshma,Padmashri Shubha Mudgal, Padmashri Gokulotsavji Maharaj, Padmabhushan Pt. Channu Lal Misra, Padmashri Smt. Shanti Hiranand only to speak of a few of them.
The Foundation has been blessed and nurtured by such towering personalities as Padmabhushan Zohra Segal, Naina Devi, T.N.Seshan, Mr Surendra Mathur, Begum Rafia Hussain, Vinod Kapoor & none of them need an introduction as they all have been eminent achievers in the varied fields of Art, Culture & Administration.
IMF pays its humble tribute to Pt. Kumar Gandharva & Ustad Amir Khan .To keep alive and revive the ‘Ganga Jamni Tehzeeb on the Festivals of Colurs ‘Holi’ IMF has been regularly organizing a Unique Festival of ‘Purab Ka Gana & Dilli Ka Khana’ at one of its Muslim Patron’s Lawns.
In the same spirit it organizes Exclusive evenings of Urdu/ & Hindi Poetry of Celebrity Poets of Subcontinent to foster the brotherhood through the medium of Poetry. It has had Kaifi Azmi, Qateel Shifai, Gopal Das Neeraj, Ahmed Faraz, Bashir Badr, Ibrahim Ashq, Bal Kavi Bairagi, Udai Pratap Singh,Khalish Dehlvi,Naqsh Layalpuri Rahat Indori,Manzar Bhopali in these years.
IMF has been equally giving great importance to Folk Music and Dances & has the honour of Introducing many upcoming and many unknown artists from this segment like Malwi Folk Kabir Singer with his group Shri Prahlad Singh Tipania who now is as famous in USA as in South Asia & India for his compositions in Malwi on Kabir & this years receipent of Padma Award. Sumona Roy Biswas was another artist who rose the great heights after IMF Launched her and so was Dhananjay Kaul .
IMF has been promoting the concept of Music Therapy as many of its active patrons & members are Medical Doctors.
Apart from Pure Classical ,Semi Classical and Folk Music -The IMF has been preserving the Old Golden Voices also of the Gone era by organizing programmes of KL Saigal, Begum Akhtar, Sahir Ludhiyanvi , Roshan Madan Mohan
Imany of the young and upcoming & takented artists like Barkha Pincha, Nanu Ram Dongre, Gayatri Ashoken Sadhna Jejurikar and Bharatnatyam Dancer Rashmi Singh Tabla Artist Sangeeta Trivedi and Singer Shoma Babarjee can be branded with the mark of IMF as it has the privilege of introducing and putting them on Top in the Music and Art World ,
The Foundation has plans to organize few unique programmes of Musical in the Gulf countries in near future
